WHAT:

As part of the January release, Boomi implemented changes to its runtime around forked executions logic and security policy file to accommodate the latest supported JDK. Some customers may be impacted by this change as outlined in the details section. This change doesn’t introduce any security-related concerns; however, to provide customers the time to make any necessary changes, Boomi has decided to cancel the January release. Please see the details section below for more information.

WHEN:
January 21, 2023

IMPACT:

Features and defect fixes slated for the January release will become available as part of the February release.

DETAILS:

The January Runtime Release involved an upgrade to support the latest JDK (version 11.0.17.8.1). The latest java version came with changes to the default security policies that potentially introduces backward incompatible changes to Boomi's customers. Boomi's latest runtime release implemented changes to the security policy files to make this java upgrade backward compatible for our customers.

This change will however impact all the customers who have been manually managing their security policy files instead of managing them through our APIs that support proper change management to these security policies. Cancelling the January release will allow these impacted customers the time needed to manually edit their policy files.
